Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder is a program that can help you free your hard disk space. This application will scan any folder or subfolder and find similar image files that actually are the same. The way the program shows duplicate photos is by displaying two or more pictures one after another and showing a similarity percentage. Once you check if they're actually the same picture, you can decide to delete one of them and keep the original one. Some files are very similar but they could be different. You will be able to see the differences by yourself when the program places the images one alongside the other.
This program is very easy to use and is absolutely free. To find duplicate image files, just set the program to scan any folder on your computer and once it has finished, scanning you will be able to delete the repeated files. The program also enables you to search an entire hard disk. Of course, it will take longer if you scan an entire disk or a folder full of images, but it will find them all. While scanning, the program will show you some statistics, such as image files scanned, possibly duplicated files found and elapsed time. You can stop the search whenever you want. However, if you stop the program, you won't be able to continue the search from the exact same point, so it will have to start all over again.
